Teaching: Over 35 years in sustainable forest management, statistics in forest resources and environment management, scientific approach in forestry, ecological landscape planning, environmental services of forests.

The field of the graduate thesis have focused on the following areas: Conservation of forest resources, siviculture, allometric equations to estimate forest carbon, biomass, reforestation, participatory approach in forest carbon monitoring.

Main fields of study

i) Forest carbon sequestration to mitigate climate change, including:
– Development and validation of allometric equations to estimate biomass, carbon and CO2 absorption for the National program REDD+
– Development and advice for participatory forest carbon monitoring
ii) Community forestry, including:
– Development and support to practice participatory forest land allocation to Ethnic Minority Community
– Development and advice in community forest management
– Development and advice to practice policy mechanism of benefit sharing from the forest allocated to communities.
iii) Rehabilitation of degraded natural forests, including:
– Experiment of enrichment planting in degraded natural forests, agroforestry on shifting cultivation areas.
– Support for sustainable forest management, forest certification.
